Fear as musician slumps, dies in Abia

On the eve of a funeral ceremony in Amuzukwu, Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, there was commotion in Umuahia on Saturday following the death of a singer.

Chika Ofor, the artist, was alleged to have slumped on his band’s stage on Friday night, just minutes after arriving to perform at a wake keep event for a 94-year-old man.

It was also said that after falling, Ofor began vomiting and was carried down the stage by some individuals at the burial. He was eventually assisted into his car, APR 520 KX.

However, the musician was alleged to have been discovered dead inside his automobile on Saturday morning.

It was unclear whether the late performer was suffering from any major health issues before to his death.

However, there were claims on social media that Ofor was poisoned by food before scaling the stage.

The late singer’s remains was later removed mid-morning on Saturday by his Bende community members and some other sympathizers and transferred to a morgue.

Platinum Times was unable to confirm whether the incident was reported to police or whether the corpse was transferred to a hospital for additional medical investigation.
