FIFA sanctions Al-Nassr over Ahmed Musa transfer
Because of a problem with the Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, FIFA has penalized Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr.
The team is no longer allowed to sign any new players until the start of the new Saudi Pro League, according to the world football governing body.
Leicester City is owed money by Al-Nassr for the transfer of Musa, but they have not received it.
In 2018, immediately after making an impression at the World Cup in Russia, Musa agreed to sign with the Saudi Arabian Pro League team in a €16.50 million deal.
Despite the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) verdict, the Knights of Naja had already paid the transfer money but not the add-ons.
Al-Nassr were mandated to pay the Foxes €460,000 in performance-related add-ons, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Saudi Arabian powerhouses have yet to abide by the CAS verdict, which has compelled FIFA to forbid them from adding new players before the upcoming season.
