The three-time African champions, on the other hand, are now without a coach ahead of the two games, after former manager Jose Peseiro stepped down after leading the side to second place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Finidi is not new to the team; he was one of Peseiro’s assistants at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
