Flood: First Lady Remi Tinubu, gifts N250,000 cash to each victims in Abuja estate

The victims of the water disaster that occurred on June 23 at the TradeMore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, have received assistance in the form of gifts and financial donations from the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of her Renewed Hope Initiative project.

Speaking while presenting the money, Senator Tinubu conveyed her condolences for the terrible tragedy through the Vice President’s wife, Hajia Nana Shettima.

Although there is no guarantee that this kind of tragedy won’t happen again, she expressed hope that the Renewed Hope Initiative’s outreach and involvement will significantly lessen their suffering at this time because the rains are still falling.

Although the Initiative is still being registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, the First Lady said in a statement released by her special adviser on media, Busola Kukoyi, in Abuja on Thursday that she could not turn a blind eye given the current situation with the TradeMore Estate, which is under her jurisdiction.

Chairman of the Resident Association Dr. Adewale Adenike thanked HE Sen Oluremi Tinubu and the revived Hope Initiative for their assistance, especially during these difficult times, on behalf of the beneficiaries.

Each impacted home received two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000.00) as compensation.

This outreach by the Renewed Hope Initiative impacted 57 households in total.
