Gov Bago appoints 131 aides, women as coordinators

131 women have been appointed by Niger State’s governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, to various political offices within the state.

The governor’s spokesperson, Mr. Bologi Ibrahim, said that while the appointments were congratulated, their principal urged them to be committed and give their fair share to the success of his administration’s policy initiatives.

He stated that the remaining 90 individuals would serve as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and that the remaining 41 individuals would act as coordinators.

The announcement said that the selections fulfilled the governor’s election campaign pledge to give women the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.

“Following the appointment of these great women into his government, it’s on record that the Niger state government is one of the states that has appointed a large number of female aides into his government,” the statement said.
