Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State, awarded Heartland FC players N100m for winning the 2022–23 Nigeria National League championship.
Early this month, the Naze Millionaires won the NNL Super Eight playoff series by a score of 2-0 over the Kano Pillars.
The prize is in recognition of the team’s outstanding campaign performance.
Heartland went the entire season without suffering a loss.
At the competition, the Owerri club also received promotion back to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Heartland has won the NPFL five times.
