Gov Radda signs N300.6bn supplementary appropriation bill into law

The 2023 Supplementary Budget, worth more than $300.6 billion, has been approved by Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda.
In a statement released on Sunday, the governor’s chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the supplemental budget would be used to fight insecurity, lessen poverty, and provide aid to underprivileged people throughout the state.
He said that last Friday, Nasir Yahya-Daura, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, gave the additional budget to the governor.
According to Mohammed, “this action highlights the government’s resolve to prioritize the welfare of its citizens and create a safer and more prosperous environment for all residents.”
Radda expressed his hopes during the signing ceremony that the additional budget will aid in advancing the state’s growth and guaranteeing a better future for the citizens.
The importance of cohesion and cooperation between the government and the legislature was emphasized as he praised the parliamentarians for their diligent work in putting together the budget.
In a similar spirit, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to openness and responsibility in the distribution and application of funds for the state’s growth.
According to Platinum Times, Radda had asked the House of Assembly’s approval to add to the N289.6 billion 2023 budget that his predecessor, former governor Aminu Masari, had signed in December 2022.
