Haaland beats Messi, De Bruyne, to win UEFA Men’s Player of the Year

Erling Haaland of Manchester City has been named the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.

At the Champions League group stage draw, Haaland was named the prize winner ahead of teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi.

The Norwegian striker wins two prizes in a row this week.

After an outstanding debut season in England, he has now won this award after winning the PFA Player of the Year earlier in the week.

Haaland helped City win the treble last season with 52 goals in 53 games.

The UEFA Women’s Player of the Year award went to Aitana Bonmati.
