How woman plunged into River from a speeding boat in Lagos
On Saturday night, a female passenger named Nimotalahi Ishola plunged into the lagoon while on board a ferry in Igando, Alimosho local government area, Lagos State.
The tragedy occurred at 9 p.m. on Saturday, shortly after the boat left the Isuti Jetty in Igando community en route to Totowu in Ogun State.
Nimotalahi was alleged to be in the boat with 11 other passengers when she suddenly removed her life jacket and jumped into the lagoon in what appeared to be a suicide.
A plastic container of insecticide was alleged to be discovered in one of the items she left behind on the boat.
Police officers have attended the scene of the event, and a search party has been formed to collect her body.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the event.
She added, “Investigation is ongoing and effort is on to contact her family.”
