Ibadan explosion: “I am now homeless,” former Oyo deputy governor laments

Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, a former deputy governor of Oyo State, has lamented that the explosion that shook Ibadan on Tuesday night has left him and his family without a place to live.
On Wednesday, Oladokun talked in an interview with Platinum Times.
According to Platinum Times, the explosion happened in Ibadan’s Bodija Housing Estate’s Dejo Oyelese Close.
According to our correspondent, Oladokun’s home was one among the homes damaged in the explosion.
In an interview with Platinum Times on Wednesday, the former deputy governor stated that the explosion’s devastation prevents him and his family from ever sleeping in his home.
He said that following Tuesday night’s blast, a friend had to put him and his wife up in lodging.
He mentioned that the incident had destroyed property in his residence worth millions of naira.
Oladokun said,
“I am one of the residents of Dejo Oyelese Close. My house was affected.
“We were just watching the football match when the explosion occured. All the doors that were closed were forced open.
“It was very devastating. All the doors, burglary, windows and even the roof have gone.
“We give glory to God that me and my wife were not hurt.
“I am just coming back now because we can’t sleep here again. We couldn’t sleep here yesterday. We have to use our phone to move out yesterday. We had to find somewhere to sleep yesterday.”
