In response to complaints over the delay in paying federal government employees’ January salary, the Accountant General of the Federation, Mrs Oluwatoyin Madein, announced that payment would begin on Thursday.
Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant General, confirmed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to him, the issue with the Government Integrated Financial Management System, GIFMIS, platform has been rectified, and employees will begin receiving their January wages.

“We have sorted out the issue, and workers will start receiving their payment starting this Thursday evening,” he said.
