(Just In) Abia guber: Appeal Court nullifies Kano High Court verdict sacking Governor Otti

Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has won again in court just two weeks after his last triumph in the Abia State governorship election petition tribunal.

This occurs when the Kano State Appeal Court dismissed the May 18 ruling rendered by the Kano State Federal High Court, presided over by Justice M. N. Yunusa, which ostensibly dismissed Otti.

The Appeal Court condemned the trial court’s fast dismissal of the case even without including relevant parties who were the actual targets of the allegations in the complaint in its ruling on Friday.

The plaintiff was also ordered to pay the appellate court’s costs, which totaled one million naira (N1,000,000).

According to The Eagle, Justice M. N. Yunusa rendered the decision in a lawsuit (FHC/KN/CS/107/2023) brought by Ibrahim Haruna Ibrahim, who sought the disqualification of all elected Labour Party candidates.
