Just In: Egbetokun takes over from Baba as IGP
The outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, on Wednesday, officially handed over to the newly appointed acting IGP, Kayode Egbetokun.
Baba during the handing over ceremony at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, said he is existing the Force with gratitude and professional fulfilment.
Baba, who said he was leaving the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) better than he met it, maintained that he had he had added value to policing in Nigeria.
While expressing appreciation to the officers and men for their loyalty, he urged them to support the new police boss, noting that all decisions he took were in good faith, and apologised to members of the Force and Nigerians whose interests may have been hurt by such decisions.
