The Ondo State House of Assembly has withdrawn its appeal against the Deputy Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the Abuja Appeal Court on Thursday.
On September 26, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja restrained the Ondo State Governor, Chief Judge, House of Assembly, Speaker, and others from proceeding with the planned impeachment of Aiyedatiwa pending the outcome of a pending motion on notice for interlocutory injunctions.
However, on October 3, 2023, the Speaker and the National Assembly filed an appeal.

During the proceedings, the counsel for the petitioners, Remi Olatubora, SAN, informed the court that the parties in the dispute had reached a political settlement.
