Just like Reps, Senate passes bill to reintroduce old national anthem

The Senate has joined the House of Representatives in passing bill that will allow Nigeria to return to its previous national anthem.

After deliberating on a report submitted by Tahir Monguno, chair of the justice committee, the upper parliamentary chamber passed the law.

The old anthem “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” was replaced with the current one “Arise, O Compatriots in 1978.
