Kano guber: Supreme Court fixes Friday for final verdict

The Kano State Governorship Election Appeal case is scheduled to be given its final verdict by the Supreme Court on Friday.
Barrister Bashir Tudun Wuzirci, the secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party’s (NNPP) legal team, verified this to Platinum Times.
“Yes, it is officially confirmed. They have told us to appear on Friday for the judgment. “They told us that each party should not have more than two counsels in attendance.
“This, they said is because they will be delivering seven judgments on that same Friday,” he said.
Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, filed an appeal against the Court of Appeal’s ruling upholding his dismissal.
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was directed by the Election Petition Tribunal to grant a certificate of return to Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the March 2023 election, and that the governor had been fired.
Governor Yusuf, dissatisfied with the tribunal ruling, had gone to the Appeal Court. However, the court upheld the governor’s dismissal and stated that, although the governor was not a party member at the time of the election, he could not have been considered to have been duly sponsored for the election.
