Kano tribunal: Abba Ganduje loses as court dismisses petition against NNPP

The petition filed by Abba Ganduje, the son of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has been dismissed by the elections petition tribunal in Kano for lack of merit and he was ordered to pay N200,000 to each of the respondents, Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in addition to other costs.
The court rejected the suit filed by Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe of the NNPP’s victory in the March 25, 2023, House of Representatives election in Rimin Gado/Dawakin Tofa/Tofa.
The petition was dismissed by the three-judge bench for lack of substance.
The petitioner failed to provide enough proof to back up the charge, according to the tribunal’s assertion.
