Magnus Abe dumps SDP, heads back to APC

Magnus Abe, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State in 2023, revealed his decision to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday.

This was revealed by the former politician during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

During the program, Abe, an ally of President Bola Tinubu, stated, “Politically, I am heading back for the APC.”

According to Platinum Times, Abe was one of the top contenders who competed for the top post in Rivers State on March 18, 2023.

Siminalayi Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, defeated him in the votes.

Abe was one of the bigwigs that fought for Rivers ministerial posts, but Tinubu chose Nyesom Wike, the immediate past governor, as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
