Mohbad: Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo plans final befitting burial for late singer
Famous Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh have begun huge preparations for the late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, in questionable circumstances, and was horribly buried the next day, Wednesday 13th.
Following an inquiry into his death, the Lagos State Police Command exhumed Mohbad’s body for autopsy and deposited his remains at the mortuary pending a befitting funeral.
Iyabo and Tonto arrived at a prominent funeral home in Lagos, Ebony Vaults, on Thursday to pick on a coffin and complete details for Mohbad’s ultimate burial ritual, as announced in an Instagram live session on Thursday.
Tonto had already offered to pay for his casket, but Dehinde Harrison, CEO of Ebony Vaults, took them off guard when he said that he would provide a free casket, hall, pall bearers, horns men, two wreath bearers, and a horse carriage, as well as a discount on the vault.
Speaking in the video, Iyabo Ojo said:
“We are still seeking justice for Mohbad. Definitely we are still waiting for the police authority to come back to us on their ongoing investigation. Everybody around Mohbad is a suspect and they are all going through one form of interrogation or the other with the police.
“But while that’s going, we have to make preparations for how he would be properly buried. And thank God we have been getting a lot of things for free and I think the only thing we would be paying for now is where he would be buried and all those things we are getting for free are not actually cheap for those of you who know Ebony Bulk their casket is not cheap.”
