Nigeria Civil Defence Corps ranks and salary structure, 2024

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a paramilitary agency which was established in 1967 to provide security against threats and any form of attack or disaster.

They work in synergy with the Nigerian Police Force for the protection of lives and properties, as well as maintaining order and discipline in the society.

NSCDC Ranks

The ranks in the NSCDC are in two categories, the commissioned officers who are the senior officers that occupy high ranking positions and the non- commissioned Officers who are the junior officers that occupy lower ranks.

Commissioned officers and their ranks;

  • Commandant General of Corps (CG).
  • Deputy Commandant General of Corps (DCG).
  • Assistant Commandant General of Corps (ACG).
  • Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC).
  • Commandant of Corps (CC).

Non-Commissioned officers and their ranks;

  • Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC).
  • Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC).
  • Superintendent of Corps (SC)
  • Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCI).
  • Assistant Cadet Inspector (ACI).
  • Cadet Inspector (CI).

NSCDC Salary structure

The Civil defence salary structure is based on the Consolidated Naval Salary Structure (CONNESS) introduced in 2017.

The salary structure is based on the categories (commissioned and non-commissioned officers), qualifications and years of service.

If the a person is a medical doctor, he is placed on level 12.

A master’s degree holder is placed on level 9.

A lawyer is placed on level 9.

If the person is a graduate, he is placed at Level 8.

An HND holder, on the other hand, is placed on Level 7.

Below is a breakdown of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps Salary structure monthly

Commissioned officers;

Commandant General (Level 18) – ₦305,332.

Deputy Commandant General (Level 17) – ₦225,290.

Assistant Commandant General (Level 17) – ₦205,380.

Chief Commander (Level 16) – ₦163,857.

Deputy Commander (Level 15) – ₦152,132.

Non-Commissioned officers;

Assistant Commander (Level 14) – ₦117,121.

Chief Superintendent of Corps( Level 13) – ₦104,377.

Superintendent of Corps (Level 12)- ₦104,337.

Deputy Superintendent of Corps (Level 11)- ₦95,295.

Assistant Superintendent cadre I (Level 10)- ₦88,035.

Assistant Superintendent cadre II (Level 9)- ₦82,249.

Cadet Inspector (Level 8)- ₦73,000.

Assistant cadet Inspector Inspector (Level 7)- ₦48,000.

Allowances and incentives allocated to the NSCDC by the government includes;

Transport Allowance

Medical Allowance

Uniform Allowance

Operation Allowance

Special Force Allowance.
