During the CAF Executive Committee meeting in Cairo on Wednesday, Sen. John Owan-Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, will present Nigeria’s candidacy to host the 2027 AFCON.

The Minister and the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will attend the meeting as representatives of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

During the conference, Nigeria will make a presentation to the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Nigeria and the Republic of Benin are collaborating to host the AFCON in 2027.

All countries hoping to host the AFCON tournament in 2025 or 2027 are expected to attend.

Nigeria will make a 10-minute presentation to the CAF EXCO before answering questions about its presentation.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, and bid Coordinator Mainasara Ilo are among the Nigerian delegation members.

The CAF EXCO will review and consider the reports submitted by the CAF Independent Assessment Committee.
