Nigerian Army buries 22 soldiers killed in Niger amid tears
No less than 22 military soldiers who lost their lives in action in Niger State are being laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
According to Platinum Times, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) stated on August 14 that at least 36 officers had died in combat.
In the Zungeru region of Niger State, several rebels shot down the officers’ helicopter.
Following recent banditry in the area, the troops were sent to Kundu hamlet in Wushishi Local Government Area.
The 22 who were interred on Friday included some of the fallen policemen who had previously been laid to rest by their individual families.
