Nigerian referee bags suspension over poor officiating
The Nigeria Football Federation Refereeing Development Unit has barred center referee Jimoh Abdurasheed and his helper, Zakari Adamu, from further refereeing in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Last weekend, the duo oversaw Rivers United’s matchday 24 against Kano Pillars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The game ended 1-1.
Kano Pillars petitioned the NPFL, prompting the move.
The officials were accused of engaging in unethical behaviour that resulted in Rivers United’s equaliser in the match.
The decision to remove the officials is claimed to have been relayed to the NFF president and general secretary.
