NYSC Orientation Camp: What to Expect

As you all know, the Batch A stream I and II are already done with thier camping.

Staring from June, Batch B Stream I will attend the NYSC orientation camp.

The camp lasts for three weeks and includes a variety of activities, such as Parades, Lectures, SAED (Skill Acquisition), drills, cultural display, carnivals, and more.

It’s important to keep in mind that the camp experience might occasionally be difficult when you start your NYSC journey. You can have some difficulty from early morning wake-ups for parade exercises to going to lectures. Don’t let this discourage you, though, since the NYSC Camp experience frequently proves to be the most exciting and memorable event of your service year. It offers a chance to interact with people from various institutions, backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities.

Arrive at the NYSC Camp early enough to register on time and become acquainted with the camp surroundings to ensure a smooth start.

NYSC Orientation Camp List Of Requirements for Registration

Take notice of the following items and make sure you have all the required copies before you travel to the NYSC Camp.

School Identity Card

Bring two (2) photocopies and the original copy of your ID card from your final year. Request a “final year ID card” by going to the Students Affairs area of your institution. Most times school IDs are issued, and NYSC accepts them. However, take note that NYSC does not accept departmental or Faculty ID cards.

Results declaration (B.Sc. or HND)

Bring four (4) photocopies of your statement of results together with the original. This document, which serves as proof of your educational qualifications, must be brought to camp. It would be pointless to go to camp without a statement of results or certificate. Bring your original certificates if you are a foreign student. Bring your ND and HND declaration of results if you attended a polytechnic.

Doctors, Nurses, pharmacists, and optometrists, among others, who are  prospective corp members (PCMs), must show proof that they have completed an internship or housemanship as well as an official certificate from the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacist Board, or Optometrist Registration Council.

NYSC Call-up Letter

Under no circumstances should you fail to carry your call-up letter, it is an extremely important document! Make sure you carry four photocopies of your call-up letter in addition to the original. This letter is often available for download by NYSC a few days after registration. Please be aware that camp officials will not accept call-up letters that have been laminated.

NYSC Green Card

Make sure you carry four (4) photocopies and the original copy of your green card. The online print-out slip you obtain after completing NYSC online registration is known as the “Green Card.” Avoid laminating it!

Important: Color printing is required on both the call-up letter and the Green Card.

A current passport photo

Make sure you carry eight copies of your passport photo as you going to the camp. This is important because the rate of snapping passport on the camp is high, also, you may be delayed to get your passport after snapping, I know you won’t like to go through such stress, so make sure you carry your passport from home. Make the passport’s background is either off-white or white color.

Physical Fitness Certificate

Carry two (2) copies of your medical fitness certificate from a Nigerian recognized clinic or government hospital.

Uploaded Documents

Foreign-trained PCMs are required to bring the original copies of all the documentation they uploaded online to the camp.

NYSC Orientation Camp Registration Guide

• One of the first things you will do on reaching the camp is to present your medical fitness certificate at the camp entrance and go through the NCDC’s mandatory COVID-19 screening when you arrive. Entrance will only be granted to those who test negative. Before entering the camp, you will be given a slip and put through manual and computer security checks to look for unauthorized things.
