Osun speaker escapes death as convoy crash injures three security, driver

A road accident in Dagbolu, Osun State, injured four occupants of a car in the convoy of Osun State House Speaker Wale Egbedun.

The accident happened on Sunday along the Osogbo/Ikirun road. Egbedun, on the other hand, was not in the car at the time of the accident.

The truck, which was believed to be carrying three DSS operatives and the driver, was on its way to Odo Otin local government, where Egbedun planned to attend a church service.

According to Olamide Tiamiyu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, the individuals in the car suffered minor injuries and were treated at a private hospital in Osogbo.

He went on to say that Egbedun was not in the car since he had already traveled with another set of people.

“The accident happened around Dagbolu along Osogbo/Ikirun road on Sunday. Three DSS men and a driver were in the vehicle when it happened. One of the tyres had problem and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“Two of the DSS men had slight cut and were treated in a private hospital in Osogbo. The other two people in the vehicle were discharged this morning.

“The Speaker was not in the vehicle. It was a minor accident,” Tiamiyu declared.
