PDP mocks Tinubu over Naira devaluation, hardship

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees has slammed President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the country’s ongoing hardship.

In a communiqué issued following its meeting in Abuja on Thursday, the BoT voiced concern about the ongoing depreciation of the Naira versus the US dollar.

According to the Platinum Times, the Naira fell against the dollar on Wednesday, closing at 950/$ in the parallel market due to the persistence of the forex crisis.

In a statement, the BoT blamed the Naira’s depreciation on “ill-implemented policies” by Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress, APC government.

The PDP also bemoaned the country’s deteriorating security situation, which it blamed on the current government’s “ill-planned policies.”

In part, the communiqué read,

“The BoT expresses serious concerns over the excruciating hardship, worsening insecurity and general sense of apprehension and despondency across the country occasioned by the hasty implementation of ill-planned policies of the overtly insensitive APC administration

“The BoT is seriously worried over the continued fall in the value of the Naira arising from the ill-implemented policies of the APC with attendant devastating negative effect on the economy resulting in agonizing high costs and unbearable pressure on families”.
