Police confirms killing of DCP after attack on Zamfara station

The Zamfara State Police Command has stated that a gang of armed individuals suspected of being bandits and holding sophisticated weaponry invaded the Zurmi division in the Nasarawa area of the Zurmi Local Government Area.
According to the report, the police officers on duty fought and repelled the attack following a fierce gunfight in which many of the bandits were slain and others fled with possible bullet wounds.
In a statement published by the Command’s Spokesman, ASP Yazeed Abubakar, he stated the Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Shitu Musa, paid the ultimate price by dying on the spot, while two other police officers were shot.
“While the bandits were retreating, they burnt down some houses and shops in the same area.
“Therefore, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara Command, MD Shehu Dalijan has deployed adequate manpower to the area while reassuring all people of the state that the command under his leadership will continue to do its best in protecting lives and properties,” he added.
