Police nab two fake soldiers in Lagos

The Police Command in Lagos State has detained two bogus soldiers who allegedly threatened to kill a guy with a jackknife while arguing.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Spokesperson, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday, stating that the accused had been in police custody since Monday.

Hundeyin stated that the Isolo Police Division received information on Monday at 10.30 p.m. regarding a brawl on Aina Street in Lagos’ Isolo district.

He stated that a patrol unit was quickly rushed to the scene to maintain order.

According to the picture creator, when the operatives arrived at the scene, they discovered one Ben Okafor, who claimed to be a Corporal in the Nigerian Army, wielding a jack knife, as well as one Darlinton Ihenacho.

Hundeyin stated that the two guys were spotted battling one Oludotun, who later complained to the police that a soldier was chasing him with a jackknife and threatening to murder him.

“After the suspects were arrested and searched, a fake Nigerian Army Identity Card, bearing Cpl. Geoffrey Emmanuel, with serial No. 140861, a jack knife, and pepper spray were recovered from them.

“Suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation. (NAN)
