Police parades 12 for phone, motorcycle robbery in Noger

12 people have been detained by Niger State police in connection with a number of motorcycle and phone robberies that occurred late at night in the Minna Metropolis.

When describing the suspects in Minna, the state command stated that the arrests were a part of ongoing efforts to eradicate crime and criminality in several sections of the state through the Police Public Relations Officer, PRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun.

Barkin-Sale, Kpakungu, Shiroro Road, Mandela Road, Soje-A, Sauka-Kahuta, and its surroundings are among the impacted localities.

On receiving the information, he claims, “a team of Police operatives attached to the Tactical Support Team of the Command mobilized to the scene and arrested them for conspiracy and armed robbery on August 13, 2023.”

One of the accused, Jibrin Nadako (J Boy), 22, of Barkin-Sale confessed during questioning that they had been stealing motorcycles and cell phones primarily at night in Minna, the state capital.

Moh’d Usman (Smally), 20, of Sauka-Kahuta, Minna, and Kure Musa, 25, of Kpakungu, Minna, are more gang members.

When the suspects were apprehended, Abiodun told reporters that they directed the police to four receivers at the Obasanjo retail center, where they sold the majority of the phones.

According to a state police spokeswoman, additional investigations showed that the gang picked up five recipients of the stolen motorcycles and stole roughly 10 motorcycles from various sites throughout Minna.

” The receivers bought the motorcycles within the range of #80,000 to #120,000 from them were arrested at Paiko”

However, three motorcycles were recovered; one Bajaj and two Jincheng motorcycles while all suspects are under investigation at the TST office, SHQ Dutsen-Kura Minna.
