Pope is recovering very well from surgery– Doctor
According to his doctors, Pope Francis’ recovery following a recent hernia procedure has been stable.
Pope Francis underwent a three-hour operation at the Gemelli hospital in Rome on Wednesday, the latest health procedure for the 86-year-old leader of the Catholic Church.
The pope has finished respiratory physical therapy, according to the physicians, and doesn’t have a temperature.
He ate lunch with the medical professionals, nurses, and gendarmes from the Vatican who were helping him recover.
The pope’s audiences have been suspended until June 18 to give him time to heal, but on Friday he started working again from his hospital room.
Francis had a hernia where a surgical scar had previously been present.
In the procedure on Wednesday, he was given general anesthesia while a surgical mesh was used to reconstruct the abdominal wall.
