Pre-season: Real Madrid beats Manchester United 2-0

The third game of Manchester United’s US trip saw them lose to Real Madrid, in which Jude Bellingham had a standout performance.

In front of 67,801 spectators at Houston’s NRG Stadium, Bellingham’s sublime sixth-minute lob over Andre Onana, making his United debut, gave Caro Ancelotti’s team the lead.

Real’s replacement Joselu’s overhead kick in the 88th minute gave Real a 2-0 victory over the Red Devils despite United’s lack of noteworthy offense, giving Erik ten Hag much to think about.

On the eve of the game, Ten Hag acknowledged that United had the lowest goal output of the top-six teams in the Premier League with just 58 goals scored. Ten Hag said that in an ideal scenario, he would have the new frontman already on tour so that he could be assimilated into the squad and style of play. United is pushing for a new striker to lead their assault.
