Rivers Crisis: Fubara flouted Tinubu’s peace deal – APC alleges
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Siminalaye Fubara of violating President Bola Tinubu’s peace accord on the political situation in Rivers State.
Chief Tony Okocha, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, accused Fubara of not being honest in implementing the peace arrangement.
Okocha made the assertion while speaking to journalists in Abuja.
He said,
“In one breath, the governor will probate and reprobate at the same time.
“You don’t say one thing during the day and another at night. It will not work.”
“He (Fubara) must obey the dictates of the proclamation he willingly accepted in the presence of President Tinubu.”
Okocha added,
“The one that will hold the governor at the jugular is the issue of re-presenting the budget.”
Okocha insisted that Rivers State’s 2024 budget had not been produced, pointing out that Fubara could not administer the state without one.
He recalls Fubara thanking Tinubu for his participation in the crisis and promising to follow the conditions of the peace arrangement.
The political crisis in Rivers State erupted after Fubara clashed with his predecessor, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
