Ronaldo to miss Portugal against Sweden clash
Cristiano Ronaldo will not participate in Portugal’s friendly against Sweden, as head coach Roberto Martinez makes roster changes.
Ronaldo was named to Martinez’s initial 32-man roster for the game.
However, the Al-Nassr attacker has been left out, along with Diogo Dalot, Joao Cancelo, Danilo Pereira, Otavio, Ruben Neves, Vitinha, and Joao Felix.
According to ESPN, the players mentioned below have been rested for the friendly.
Ronaldo, who is on holiday with his family in Saudi Arabia, has been allowed some time to recover while the Saudi Pro League is suspended for the international break.
The 39-year-old played the whole 90 minutes for Al-Nassr on Saturday evening and has so been granted some much-needed rest before another extremely hectic summer.
