Sunday Oliseh, Finidi George, others submits application for Super Eagles top job (full list)

No less than 12 coaches have met the deadline for submitting application letters for the vacant position of head coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles, which was advertised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last week.

The federation announced the position of Super Eagles head coach vacant five days ago, when former coach Jose Peseiro’s contract expired at the end of February.

In an advertisement on its website seeking candidates, the NFF claimed that the prospective Super Eagles coach “must have proven experience at the elite level of football.”

Applications must be sent by 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, to jobs@thenff.com or via the URL – https://thenff.com/jobs/head-coach-of-the-senior-mens-national-team-super-eagle/.

Platinum Times can confirm that the applications of 12 coaches seeking to succeed Peseiro arrived at the NFF secretariat in Abuja before Tuesday’s deadline.

The NFF has received applications from former head coach of Tanzania’s senior men’s team, Taifa Stars, and ex-coach of Nigeria’s 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning team, Golden Eaglets; Finidi George, Peseiro’s assistant coach; and Sunday Oliseh, former Super Eagles head coach.

Others who submitted applications before the deadline include Samson Siasia, a former Super Eagles head coach whose FIFA ban will soon be removed, Sylvanus Okpala, an ex-Super Eagles assistant coach under the late Stephen Keshi, and Michael Nsien, an ex-USA U-16 team coach of Nigerian heritage.

Ndubuisi Egbo, the first Nigerian coach to lead a European team to a league title and qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and António Conceição da Silva Oliveira, a former head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, are both vying for the Super Eagles position.

The 12 applications were sent to the NFF’s official email address, jobs@thenff.com, or via the link, https://thenff.com/jobs/head-coach-of-the-senior-mens-national-team-super-eagle/, by 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, the NFF is tasked with finding a new coach for the team before the next FIFA World Cup African qualifier in June.
