Super Falcons resume training ahead of England clash

On Thursday, the Super Falcons began preparing for their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup match against the Lionesses of England in the Round of 16.

Following Monday’s 0-0 draw with the Republic of Ireland, the players were given a two-day break.

The session at Brisbane’s Lion FC Stadium featured all 23 players.

Randy Waldrum, the head coach, oversaw the workouts.

Deborah Abiodun, a defensive midfielder, is ready for selection once more following a required two-match suspension.

In the last seconds of Nigeria’s opening game against Canada, Abiodun received a red card.

She was not present for the 3-2 triumph over the co-hosts Australia or the scoreless tie with Ireland.

The match will take place in Brisbane’s Lang Park on Monday. Start time is 8:30 a.m. Nigerian time.
