Supreme Court reserves judgment in Kebbi guber election petition
In an appeal to sack Dr. Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Kebbi State, the Supreme Court has reserved it’s ruling.
Following the conclusion of the parties’ final statements, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the head of a five-member panel of the supreme court, declared on Tuesday that the judgment was reserved and that the parties would be contacted when it was ready for delivery.
In his appeal, Major General Aminu Bande, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the most recent Kebbi State gubernatorial election, is pleading with the court to overturn the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold Idris’ election as previously determined by the electoral tribunal.
