Unknown assailants assassinated Chidozie Chigbu at Nsirimo community, Umuahia South LGA, Abia State.[ez-toc]
The victim’s lifeless body was discovered in the neighborhood by villagers on Wednesday night, with extensive machete wounds all over his head, implying that his attackers may have killed him with a machete.
His body was discovered face down in a pool of blood at the location of the suspected murder.
It has not yet been determined where the assailants came from or what time they struck at the time of this report.
It was also unclear whether the late Chidozie Chigbu had any conflicts with anyone before to his heinous murder.
However, a voice from a video circulating on social media from the scene of the incident said that Mr Chigbu’s lifeless body was discovered by a villager going to gather water, and that the alarm raised by the indigene drew other locals to the scene.
The incident was yet to be confirmed by the Abia State Police Command.
Messages addressed to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, on the incident were not returned as of the time of reporting this story.
