Tinubu appoints 3 new NUPRC executive commissioners

Subject to the Nigerian Senate’s approval, President Bola Tinubu has designated three new executive commissioners and redeployed one current executive commissioner to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, made this announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

Enorense Amadasu, Executive Commissioner (South-South), Development and Production; Babajide Fasina, Executive Commissioner (South West), Economic Regulation and Strategic Planning; and Bashir Indabawa, Executive Commissioner (North West), Exploration and Acreage Management; Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu, Executive Commissioner (Southeast), Corporate Services and Administration (Redeployed).

According to Ngelale, the President authorized the reorganization and replacement based on his well-informed evaluation of all sector-related factors in order to create a regulatory framework and culture that completely disincentivizes irresponsible behavior and rewards diligence and rule-based business practices throughout the sector.
