Tinubu vows quick resolution to Nigeria’s economic woes
President Bola Tinubu has stated that his administration will work to improve the country’s economic status.
Tinubu made the assurance during an address to the All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday.
The President, through Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, declared that he recognized the pain that Nigerians were experiencing and that significant steps had been taken to mitigate the impact of the reduction of fuel subsidies on the public.
He highlighted the N100 billion CNG-powered buses, the N35,000 wage award to civil personnel, and the signing of five executive directives to support businesses as steps performed by the administration.
He also noted the formation of a committee to reduce Nigerians’ tax burden, as well as efforts to repay billions of dollars in inherited foreign exchange debts.
“The pains being faced by Nigerians are necessary sacrifices we all have to make; we are all stakeholders in the development of our dear nation,” he went on to say.
Tinubu went on to say that his administration was trying to develop a prosperous and dynamic country rather than taking a break, and that illuminating discussions about economic expansion would be enthusiastically welcomed by the government.
