Tobi Amusan improves on Season’s Best, shifts focus to Lausanne
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan on Tuesday evening in Ostrava, Czech Republic improved on her Season’s Best, crossing the line in a time of 12.47s.
The time earned the reigning world champion and record holder third place finish in the women’s 100m Hurdles at the Ostrava Golden Spike meet.
Puerto Rican ,Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn ran a Meeting Record of 12.42s to win the race, while USA’s Tia Jones came 2nd in 12.44s.
Meanwhile, Amusan will be making her first Diamond League appearance this season, competing in Lausanne on Friday.
At the Diamond League, she will embark in a lineup featuring her arch rival Camacho-Quinn, Ali, Jones, and the impressive Alaysha Johnson, who has been one of the standout performers this season.
The competition will be fierce, with each athlete determined to claim victory and etch their name in the annals of track and field history.
Amusan, the reigning world champion in the hurdles event, aims to build on her recent success at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica, where she showcased her dominance by triumphing in a convincing Season’s Best time of 12.57 seconds.
This victory provided her with a surge of confidence and a strong foundation for her upcoming challenges.
With focus on bouncing back, Amusan will hope to use the two upcoming competitions to regain her top form in preparation for the defense of her world title in Budapest come August.
