Why referee will be disappointed if he played for Man City

Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has stated that referee Simon Hooper would have been “disappointed” if he had played for the Premier League champions in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham.

With Jack Grealish through on goal, Hooper controversially stopped a City attempt for a foul on Erling Haaland.

Haaland and his teammates were enraged by his choice, which they regarded as a chance to tie the game at 4-3 late in the game.

Haaland was spotted seething as he made his way to the locker room following the game.

Guardiola responded to the Norwegian’s reaction by saying, “It’s normal.” If the referee had been a Man City player today, he would have been upset as well.”
