Wike visits building collapse site in FCT, Insist on demolition of illegal structures

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory,, on Thursday visited the scene of  the structure collapse in Garki II, Abuja.

A two-story structure with numerous business centers collapsed on Wednesday night at 10 p.m., according to Platinum Times.

Speaking to reporters Thursday morning at the scene of the event, Wike restated his earlier statement that structures in the nation’s capital without the required approval will be demolished.

“This is what we are saying: any building without approval will go down.

“We don’t hate anybody. All we are saying is the proper thing should be done,” he said.
