‘You’ve a case to answer’ – Judge knocks ex-minister, Abdu Bulama, others over N450m fraud

Dr. Abdu Bulama, a former minister of science and technology, and four other people were warned in court by Justice Fadima Aminu of the Federal High Court in Damaturu, Yobe State, that they had questions to answer over an N450 million fraud case.
The other four defendants are Hassan Ibn Jaks, Abba Gana Tata, Muhammad Mamu, and Hon. Mohammed Kadai, a former commissioner for rural and integrated development in Yobe State.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 reelection campaign committee in Yobe State was coordinated by the ex-minister, with Kadai serving as his deputy and the other three accused as members.
The claimed cash was given to them in an effort to sway the results of the 2015 presidential election.
The Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Commission is prosecuting the defendants on seven counts of criminal conspiracy and N450M worth of money laundering.
On Monday, November 8, 2021, the ex-minister and the other four defendants were re-arrested.
