2024 WAFCONQ: Super Falcons advance to second round as Sao Tome withdraws

Sao Tome and Principe have withdrew from the qualifying process for the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in 2024.

Later this month, Sao Tome and Principe were set to face the Super Falcons in a first-round qualifying match.

Platinum Times has learned that the country’s football authorities have already informed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of their intentions.

The Super Falcons, nine-time champions, have advanced to the second round without kicking a ball.

In the second round, the Nigerian girls will face the winner of the encounter between Cape Verde and Liberia.

The winner of that competition will represent Morocco at the 2024 WAFCON.

The Super Falcons finished fourth in the previous edition of the competition, which was also hosted by Morocco.
