BREAKING: Amid impeachment saga, Wike meets Fubara behind closed doors in Aso Rock

The meeting of the two politicians and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came after the Rivers State House of Assembly initiated impeachment procedures against Fubara on Monday.

Fubara and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike appeared to be in the Villa for a meeting of the Nigeria Police Council, a constitutional body that controls the organization and management of the Nigeria Police Force.

President Bola Tinubu presides over the Council.

The Council was made up of the governors of each state in the Federation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and the Inspector-General of Police.

The Nigeria Police Council last met on June 4, 2021, and President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the meeting.
