Misplaced priority – Timi Frank knocks Tinubu over quest for GWR
Comrade Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated President Bola Tinubu’s ambition to be acknowledged in the Guinness World Records for changes implemented by him since taking office has been a misguided endeavor.
Tinubu told an audience at the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum in Germany, “Nigeria voted for me for reforms, and I started the reforms from day one of my inauguration.” If you didn’t mention me in the Guinness Book of Records, I’d try to find a way to get in because I did it without expecting anything in return.”
However, in a statement made on Friday, Frank emphasized that the President’s only global record was inflicting great economic anguish and unbearable sorrow on the people.
He went on to say that, despite the President’s assertion that he was in Germany to court investors, no one will be prepared to invest in the country because of the terrible world records he has purportedly broken.
Frank wondered why Tinubu was flaunting withdrawal of fuel subsidy on inauguration day as evidence that he ‘struck the ground running’.
He emphasized that the President was unaware that his sole action had resulted in agony, tears, and grief for the average person.
Frank claimed that the ostensible changes had destroyed the country’s currency, with $1 now worth more than N1,000.
Frank noted,:
“Foreign investors will definitely not go to a country with a flawed electoral process or where the judiciary cannot be trusted to guarantee justice to protect their investments.”
He stressed that the President claimed that he had removed fuel subsidy,
“but fuel is still being subsidised by his administration even though the people now languish under the burden of astronomical increases in the pump price of fuel and other essential petroleum products.”
