Early life
Abdullahi Audu Sule was born in Akwanga-West Development Area of Nasarawa State on December 26th, 1959.
Education
He had his elementary education att Roman Catholic Mission (RMC) Primary School, Gudi Station in 1968.
He then enrolled in Zang Secondary School in 1974 and later Government Technical College, Bukuru in 1977.
He studied at the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi in 1980 before leaving the country for a scholarship to study at Indiana University, Terre Haute, Indiana, United States where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology and a master’s degree in Industrial Technology.
Career
In 1985, Sule returned to Nigeria and served as a youth corps member with Plateau Utilities Board.
He was also a production engineer at the Jos Steel Rolling Mill.
In 1989, he returned to the United States and worked for several companies (Lancer Corporation, OEM component and Osyka Corporation among others) before returning to Nigeria in 2000.
When he returned to Nigeria, he co-founded Sadiq Petroleum Nigeria Limited in Lagos and was made the managing director/CEO.
Under his leadership, the company won a bid to acquire African Petroleum (AP) Plc and he became the CEO of AP in 2001.
He was also the substantive Group Managing Director of the Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc.
Political Career
He won the gubernatorial primaries for Nasarawa State of the All Progressives Congress on 1st October, 2018.
On 10th March, 2019, he was declared governor-elect of Nasarawa State at the 2019 Nasarawa gubernatorial election. He was sworn in on 29th May, 2019.
Personal life
Abdullahi Sule is a Muslim and is married to two wives, Hajiya Silifa and Hajiya Farida .
