Early Life
Born on 21st July, 1956 in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria.
Education
Akeredolu had his elementary education at government school in Owo and then proceeded to Aquinas College, Akure, Loyola College, Ibadan and comprehensive high school, Ayetoro, for his secondary school education and Higher School Certificate, respectively.
He graduated with a degree in Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. law and he in 1977.
Career
From 1997 to 1999, Akeredolu served as Attorney General of Ondo State and then a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Between 2005 to 2006, he was made Chairman of Legal Aid Council and in 2008 he was appointed National President Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) till 2010 when he became member of National Judicial Council up till 2012.
Akeredolu was also a Managing Partner at the law firm of Olujinmi & Akeredolu which he co-founded with Chief Akin Olujinmi, a former Attorney General and Minister for Justice of Nigeria.
In 2022, he was appointed Grand Patron of the NDLEA.by the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Political history
Rotimi Akeredolu joined politics in the umbrella of the Action Congress of Nigerian which was later incorporated into the All Progressives Congress.
In 2016, he emerged winner of the gubernatorial election which held in the state and was sworn in as Governor of Ondo State.
He was re-elected in 2020 for a second term in office.
Personal life
Aketi as fondly called by his close pals was from a Christian home.
His parents were Reverend J. Ola Akeredolu of the Akeredolu family and Lady Evangelist Grace B. Akeredolu of Aderoyiju family of Igbotu, Ese Odo, in Ondo State.
He was married to Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and together they have children.
Awards
He was conferred with a national honor of the Commander of the Order of the Niger(CON) by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.

Until his death, he was estimated to be worth over $5 Million.
Death
Late Akeredolu died on Wednesday 26th, December, 2023 after battling with Leukemia for several months. His demise has been a shocker to Ondo State citizens and Nigeria as a whole.
