Early life

Olamide Gbenga Adedeji hails from Lagos State, he was born on 15th March, 1989 as the second child of Mr. Adedeji and Mrs. Ronke Osisanya Adedeji.

Education

Olamide grew up in the streets of Lagos where he had his early education before obtaining a degree in Mass Communication at the Tai Solarin University of Education.

Career

Olamide started his career when he released the debut single, “Eni Duro,” in 2010 while he was signed to coded tunes.

In 2011, the album Rhapsodi was released with the hit singles “Omo to Shan” which gave him numerous recognitions and collaboration with other artists.

In 2012, YBNL, his follow-up album, was released under his label imprint YBNL Nation.

The album was supported by the singles “First of All”, “Voice of the Street”, “Stupid Love”, and “Ilefo Illuminati”. On 7 November 2013, he released his third studio album Baddest Guy Ever Liveth.

The album’s singles include “Durosoke” and “Yemi My Lover”. On 17 July 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc.

As a follow-up to his third album, in November 2014, Olamide released his fourth album Street OT through YBNL Nation.

Other albums the has released under his Label YBNL are; Eyan Mayweather (2015), The Glory (2016), Lagos Nawa (2017), Carpe Diem (2020), UY Scuti (2021) and Unruly (2023).

He has three children of which two are born to him by his wife, Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman and the other resulted from his affair with his ex-lover, Maria Okanrende.

The singer is a brother to two siblings, TemmyGold and Eniola Olamilekan( DJ Enimoney).
