Kemi Nanna Nandap has been named the new the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) by president Bola Tinubu.
This appointment is expected to take effect from 1st March, 2024 after the retirement of Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, whose tenure in office will expire on February 29, 2024.
Nandap is recorded as the third female to head the service and is expected to incorporate her experiences to make significant developments in the service.

- Prior to Kemi’s appointment as Comptroller-General, Nandap was the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the Migration Directorate of the Service.
- Kemi Nanna Nandap was born on June 3rd 1966, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
- She attended the University of Illorin where she bagged a bachelor of science degree in Biochemistry.
- She was the wife of the late Emmanuel Nanpah Nandap, a retired Lt. Col. who concluded his service in 1999.
- Kemi Nandap is a prominent figure in the area of immigration services, in 2022, she took charge as the the Comptroller at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Command, Lagos, succeeding CIS Abdullahi Dalhatu.
- Under her watch, the service experienced significant changes such as the cub of human trafficking through the Lagos International Airport. Also, her commitment to national security was witnessed by the interception of a pistol and bullets, resulting in the arrest of a US-based Nigerian attempting to smuggle them into the country.
- She was also a Comptroller in charge of the Plateau State Command where she made her imprints by investing both on infrastructural and human capital development before she was moved the Lagos International Airport.
- In her new role, she is expected to expand the ongoing reforms in the service and create a vast mechanism for efficient and dedicated service delivery to Nigerians, as well as strengthen the nation’s security through anticipatory and efficient border security and migration management.
